Enjoy an evening recital of baroque music with the Nocturnalia Ensemble.
The Foundling Museum is delighted to welcome the Nocturnalia Ensemble to the Picture Gallery for an enchanting evening recital.
Nocturnalia Ensemble is composed of three young performers on violin, cello/gamba, and historical keyboards. They believe that baroque music is tremendously contemporary, and look to offer fresh concerts to audiences that showcase the freedom and unique creativity permitted by the improvisation and ornamentation of 17th and 18th-century compositions. Nocturnalia was born in 2021 as part of the EEEmerging+ program, founded by members of its academy. They performed their first concert in Athens in January 2023 and since then have been chosen as part of the Fringe Scheme of both Utrecht Early Music Festival and Contratemps Festival. They have also been selected as semi-finalists in the Loire International Early Music Competition.
Performers:
Mojca Jerman, historical violin
Alex Mastichiadis, historical keyboards (harpsichord and organ)
Pablo Tejedor-Gutiérrez, historical cello and viola
Repertoire TBA
