A merging of nature and Queer experiences in dreamlike, symbolic narratives.
Glasgow-born artist Andrew Sim infuses their Queer experiences into art, weaving symbolic narratives with winged horses, flowers, rainbows, and werewolves. Their paintings reimagine the Jupiter Artland Ballroom as a fantastical forest, where plants and trees thrive under rainbows and starlit skies.
Exploring growth, roots, and connections, Sim captures the sensation of existing between familiar and surreal landscapes. Focusing on trees and plants, this new series integrates Jupiter's natural elements into the Ballroom, inviting viewers to contemplate transitions and connections in a dreamlike yet familiar setting. This exhibition marks their largest display in Scotland.
