Thought-provoking installation delves into childhood and the legacy of the Windrush Generation.
When the Windrush Generation travelled to Britain to start anew, many young children were left behind in their home countries. In Miss Polly, multidisciplinary artist Valda Jackson investigates the impact of this experience through spoken word, text, sculpture and painting, exploring the idea that we are all born incomplete and live as works in progress.
Miss Polly coincides with the exhibition Windrush: Portraits of a Pioneering Generation and the centenary of James Baldwin's birth, adding further depth to her exploration of identity and history.
