Explore the Yoshida family's printmaking legacy spanning two centuries.
Discover the esteemed Yoshida family's artistic legacy, from Hiroshi to Ayomi. This major exhibition showcases woodblock prints spanning centuries, featuring loans from international and private collections. Notably, works by Hiroshi, from the Fukuoka Art Museum in Japan, mark their debut in the UK.
Curated by Dr Monika Hinkel with Helen Hillyard's support, the exhibition explores Hiroshi's global influence, Fujio's watercolours, and Tōshi and Hodaka's post-war innovations. Chizuko's role in the first group of female printmakers in Japan and Ayomi's contemporary interpretations conclude the multi-generational display, offering a unique blend of tradition and modernity in Japanese printmaking.
