A rare insight into the lives of Medieval Women through their own words and images
Explore the fascinating world of medieval women. Following the British Library’s extensive Medieval and Renaissance Women digital archive project, funded by Joanna and Graham Barker, a new display will offer further insight into women from Britain and across Europe during 1100-1600.
Medieval Women aims to reclaim the voices, visions, and experiences of women from this period. Discover their history through their own words, witness their lives through personal images, and unravel the many layers of their stories using original manuscripts, documents, and objects.
