One of the UK’s largest contemporary art centres, Nottingham Contemporary runs a vibrant programme of international art exhibitions.
Based on the oldest site in Nottingham, the gallery boasts an award-winning building that takes inspiration from the city's heritage while offering four perfectly designed contemporary art galleries and a space for performance and film.
The gallery both supports emerging artists with first-time UK solo shows and presents many of the world's leading and most exciting contemporary artists, having hosted works by artists such as David Hockney, Mark Leckey, Tala Madani, Steve McQueen and Wolfgang Tillmans.
It also commissions major new works, a number of which have been acquired by major collections. Past commissions have included work by artists Lara Favaretto and Simon Starling.
Through its ambitious exhibition programme Nottingham Contemporary aims to stimulate important discussion about culture and society, and the gallery is renowned for its accompanying events and innovative approach to research and learning.
Nottingham Contemporary was a finalist for Art Fund Museum of the Year 2019.
