Altarpieces and religious frescoes form the largest portion of Brusasorci's production, but he was also much in demand as a painter of palace facades and friezes, and to a lesser extent of portraits. He was an eclectic painter who responded readily to new artistic stimuli, and he played a significant role in disseminating the Mannerist style in the Veneto region. This large, highly-resolved drawing is one of only about a dozen securely attributable sheets by the artist to have been identified.
