Campaign Update

22 Dec 2021

Thanks to your help we are busy preparing for next year's Return of the Stuarts exhibition. We have been overwhelmed by the results of our October crowdfunding campaign with Art Happens and have exceeded our target with donations to the crowdfunding campaign exceeding £28,000 and further donations being received directly to the museum after the campaign ended.

Our Board Chair, Ian Peter MacDonald has this message for all our supporters as we look ahead to the coming year:

"In 2022 we head into our second century and we are getting the museum prepared. The main event will be this exhibition of Jacobite portraits, primarily from the Pininski collection. Our energetic crowdfunding exercise raised far more than the needed £25,000 in a tense 30-day period and this sets us fair to launch the show in August 2022 as planned. With so much generosity shown by individual supporters, organisations, and businesses, we are sure to have a lively launch and a well visited exhibition. Importantly this fundraising process illustrated how many people see the importance of our museum as the cultural centre of Lochaber."

We have now begun work on producing rewards for donors who chose one. All rewards for Art Happens campaigns are bespoke and exclusive to the project, this means that they can take a little while to create. We are currently working with Art Fund and suppliers and should be able to share more news about when rewards will be ready in the new year - please keep an eye out for updates.
