Joins us this year for two online sessions looking more closely at painting a horse’s head.

Join The Munnings Art Museum and National Sporting Library & Museum for a two part series of ONLINE workshops over two Tuesdays:

These two sessions look more closely at painting a horse’s head if you are more confident with your painting ability or have attended the earlier sessions in June. You will be able to ask questions throughout.

Session 1 - Tuesday 30th July at 4pm (BST) / 11:00 am (EDT)

Session 2 - Tuesday 6th August at 4pm (BST) / 11:00 am (EDT)

Biography: James P Power. SEA. IEA @jamespowerartist

For the last thirty years of his working life, James held the position of stud groom for a major stud farm, Juddmonte Farms, Cheveley, Cambridgeshire, UK. He retired in 2011 and today gives his time and knowledge to the industry and to charities in which he has become involved.

Working in oils, watercolours and pastels, with a passion for a wide range of subject matters, particularly Suffolk rural life, James is an active member of The Society of Equestrian Artists and was elected Full member of the Institute of East Anglian Artists in 2021. He has exhibited in major galleries in London and throughout the UK and has paintings in collections around the world, including in the Garrick Club, London. He was Artist in Residence to York Racecourse in 2016 and winner of the Best Racing Picture, 2000, sponsored by Horse & Hound Magazine.

Currently James teaches equestrian art and is a regularly tutor at the Munnings Art Museum, Dedham, Essex, UK
