FREE Teacher training day
The National Horseracing Museum, Suffolk Archives, and Historic England are delighted to invite teachers and trainee teachers from your school to a free CPD session to explore ways of using local heritage in the classroom to inspire learning across the curriculum.
The day will include:
Advice on how you can find local migration stories and weave them into your local history teaching
Find out how to become a School of Sanctuary
A focused session on refugees who found sanctuary in Suffolk during the Second World War
A case study of current work at Laureate Community Academy to explore and record migration stories within the school’s past and present
Open to all schools across the East of England
Topics covered will be suitable for KS2 and 3
Lunch and refreshments will be provided as will a pack of historic maps and aerial photos of your local area
Heritage Schools is also offering a contribution (up to £130) towards cover costs for one teacher from your school to attend this CPD event
