About

Nic Gear is an artist who loves to walk in the natural world, particularly in the Lake District, and Peak District national parks. From these walks he collects objects, makes memories and takes photographs that become artworks which have both literal and abstract qualities. These combinations talk of his experiences of landscape.

Having graduated with a MA in Fine Art in 2015, Nic has exhibited his work in diverse locations such as the Wordsworth Museum, Grasmere, St Johns College, Cambridge, and the Mall Galleries, London. In 2023 he was awarded the Winsor Newton product prize at the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours show and was commended in the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists drawing exhibition.
