The talk will be about Steve’s folk song collecting experiences in the East Riding in the 60s and 70s with lots of examples of the songs collected.

He started by recording his own family songs and then branched out into the East Riding villages Nearly all of my collection is/was available on the British Library Sound Archive, under English Traditional Song, but that is currently being debugged as they have had a cyber attack.

He is also chairman of the Yorkshire Garland Group and the Hull Folk Archive, and a member of the maritime folk group Spare Hands, having appeared recently at Humberfest in Barton.
