Young Archaeology Club February: Rapa Nui - Easter Island

15 February 2025
Meeting time 11 – 12:30 or 2-3:30
£5

The monthly meeting of our Young Archaeology Club (YAC) for 8-16 year olds.

Saturday 15th February 2025

For a series of YAC sessions we are looking at some periods in history where... well it didn’t all go to plan. In this session we’re heading right over the other side of the world to Rapa Nui - Easter Island as it’s better know. Known as the ‘naval of the world’ to in inhabitants, a culture flourished there producing art, stories, myths and most famously of all the giant Moai statues. But what happened to these people who created them? And how did their story almost get wiped out? Talks, games and crafts to explore this interesting questions.
