Join us for an enchanting evening of Handel, performed by Hilary Cronin and The English Concert.
The Foundling Museum is delighted to welcome soprano Hilary Cronin and The English Concert orchestra for an enchanting evening performance of works by Handel, in celebration of the composer's 340th birthday.
One of the original benefactors of the Foundling Hospital, Handel was, and remains to this day, a key part of its story. He composed the Foundling Hospital Anthem, which features the famous 'Hallelujah Chorus' from Messiah.
Hilary Cronin is a soprano with an outstanding reputation for performing Baroque music. She has a particular penchant for Handel, having performed the composer's L'Allegro with the Monteverdi Choir at Carnegie Hall, and at the Handel Festival in Halle.
The English Concert is an exceptional period orchestra founded in 1972. In 2023 it launched its Handel for All project, which aims to make available performances of all of Handel's works, accompanied by expert insight and other learning materials.
