Join us to celebrate the launch of new garden trail, ‘Healing plants’, inspired by the ‘Healing words’ exhibition at our Museum Late.
Discover the plant ingredients used in our collection of handwritten recipe books and grown in our very own Medicinal Garden. Pick up a copy of the new trail early in the evening and get exploring!
At 6pm or 7pm there will be the option to join a tour of our exhibition taking a closer look at the plant ingredients as they feature in our exhibition. In case of poor weather there will also be a display inside of potted and cut plants from the Garden.
So drop in after hours to view the exhibition, join a curator tour and pick up a self-guided trail to explore the Garden!
About the Medicinal Garden
The RCP garden of medicinal plants is unique in that almost every one of the over 1000 species of plant here has a link to medicine. It may be a herb with a long history of use in folk tradition; it may have provided the model for a pharmaceutical drug; it may be a fibre plant used to make bandages or its botanical name may commemorate a Physician and honour a contribution to science. The myriad stories they tell come from diverse cultures, different countries and from every age in recorded history.
