Workshop

Tile making and decorating

24 April - 22 May 2025
7pm-9pm
£165

We are excited to offer this new course lead by experienced potter Rupert Brakspear of Brakspear Ceramics

Tile Making and Decorating offers participants the chance to explore a variety of techniques over six weeks. Starting with an introduction to beautiful tile examples, the course will guide attendees through methods such as rolling, press moulding, and wiring to create tiles from earthenware or stoneware clays.

Participants will also experiment with different decoration techniques, including slip, sgraffito, sponge application, wax resist, and encaustic practices. The course will culminate in the creation of unique tiles, which can be left raw or finished with a transparent glaze. This course is a wonderful opportunity to enhance your creative skills and produce beautiful, personalised tiles for your home or garden.
