This event series is part poetry reading, part open mic – and the guest poet and open mic theme change every time!
Curated and hosted by poet Kim Moore, our online contemporary poetry reading series continues throughout 2025.
We will be listening to what poets have to say about our turbulent times, and how poetry can cross borders to challenge, delight and inspire us. Each event in the series is part reading, part open mic – and the theme of the open mic changes every time!
Our next event will feature two guest poets – Rachel Davies and Hilary Robinson. Rachel and Hilary will be reading from their joint collection of poems An Altogether Different Place (Beautiful Dragons Squared, 2024). This innovative and groundbreaking collection explores their experience of living and caring for loved ones with dementia. The role of memory in the poetry of William Wordsworth is crucial – in both the construction of self and the connection to nature.
Our open mic theme this month is to take the idea of memory as inspiration and bring a poem that explores memory in some way. As ever, feel free to interpret the theme widely!
