A walking tour of the beautiful medieval village of Malton
We will see the church (part of a former monastery), the earthworks of the Roman fort and settlement, past the Workhouse to the John Carr bridge. Returning past former merchant houses we will see the site of the Norman castle and walk up to tea and cake at the Old Lodge, the remains of a former Jacobean mansion. About 2 hours walking on grass and paths.
