First dedicated UK exhibition of Monet’s Thames paintings.
Claude Monet, one of the leading figures of French Impressionism, played a pivotal role in changing the course of modern art. A lesser known fact is that some of his most remarkable paintings were made in London, many of which depict atmospheric views of the Thames in a new light.
Begun over three stays in the capital between 1899 and 1901, the series depicts the iconic architecture of Charing Cross Bridge, Waterloo Bridge and the Houses of Parliament. Until now, they have never been the subject of an exhibition in the UK.
