Contemporary sculptor Kathy Prendergast questions maps, land and language.
Blending drawing, sculpture and installation, Kathy Prendergast’s Stasis Field explores themes of identity, geography and the human body through delicate yet powerful materials like wool, fabric, chalk stone and flowers.
Hand-coloured works in the exhibition invite reflection on human connections to land, borders and history – shaped by her Irish upbringing and Ireland’s shifting relationship with the European Union. At the heart of Stasis Field is a series of reimagined volcanic maps, where hand-drawn contours and vivid red accents create a tactile, almost pulsating energy.
