Revealing the story of an Italian city at the heart of the history of art.
This exhibition tells the story of the extraordinary rise of painting in Siena during the early 14th century, a golden age that transformed art across Europe. At its heart were pioneering artists such as Duccio, Simone Martini, and the brothers Pietro and Ambrogio Lorenzetti, who redefined painting with striking emotional depth, dynamic movement, and narrative power.
Through over 100 remarkable works of art, including paintings, illuminated manuscripts, and finely crafted objects, the exhibition displays long-separated masterpieces for the first time in centuries.
