Voices of Resistance: Slavery and Post in the Caribbean

5 April 2025 - 5 January 2026

Learn about the life and legacy of enslaved people whose labour powered 19th-century postal ships.

Voices of Resistance uncovers the lives and legacies of enslaved people who powered 19th-century postal ships, highlighting their fight for freedom, the persecution they faced and their lasting global impact.

Developed in collaboration with academics and community groups in London and the Virgin Islands, the exhibition features postcards, letters, paintings and clothing, alongside newly unearthed correspondence revealing acts of resistance.

A new film commission spotlights the annual St. Thomas commemoration honouring coal workers, organised by Dollar fo’ Dollar.
