With over 1000 Japanese prints, 5000 examples of coins and money, 500 books and manuscripts and the largest collection of religious icons outside London, the Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery caters to a wide range of interests, from fine art to natural history.

From Blackburn to Egypt
Discover hieroglyphs and artefacts that unveil the mysteries of ancient Egypt in the museum’s Egyptology collection, home to The Mummy, the most sought after item in the whole museum. Some of the collection was donated by one the great early Egyptologists, John Garstang, who was born in Blackburn.
