An Elizabethan Manor near the New Forest, Breamore House boasts a fine collection of works of art and period furniture.

Most grand houses of this period are no longer in private hands, but Breamore House which was completed in 1583, remains the home of the Hulse family, who have opened its doors to the public. Whether you're interested in grand architecture, social history, agricultural heritage, or simply want to spend a day in the stunning Hampshire countryside, there's something here to pique your interest.

Guided house tours

Tour guides bring the house's history to life, sharing stories of the Hulse family and their role in the region. Explore grand rooms adorned with original paintings and antique furniture. Don’t miss the 1,000-year-old yew tree standing sentinel outside the house.

Explore rural life

Delve into the Countryside Museum where you'll find a fascinating collection showcasing rural life in a bygone era. Recreated scenes depict a traditional village, including a dairy, a blacksmith's workshop, a charming schoolroom, and a cozy cottage.

Farming heritage

The museum houses an extensive collection of agricultural machinery with a range of steam-powered farm equipment, tractors, and various tools, all meticulously preserved. The functioning steam workshop and traction engine are some of the few remaining operational pieces on exhibition in the UK.
