A ducal palace set in rolling parkland, Chatsworth is magnificent both inside and out, and houses a major private art collection.

A 17th-century creation with a 19th-century wing built by the 6th Duke, Chatsworth is the ancestral seat of the Cavendish family, the Dukes of Devonshire. It is an outstanding English stately home, with a sumptuous range of state rooms featuring ceilings by Laguerre and Verrio; extensive gallery spaces for the collection; a chapel adorned with sculpture by Verrio; three libraries, housing one of the finest English book collections in private hands; and a Wyatville dining room hung with works by Van Dyck, Mytens and Gainsborough.

With a National Art Pass you get 50% off a House & Garden ticket. See the Visitor Information section for details and the Chatsworth website for prices.
