A late 17th-century house with fine Georgian interiors, Croft Castle has been home to the Croft family for nearly 1,000 years.
A combination of a historic house, beautiful gardens, and sprawling Herefordshire countryside. Today, the property is cared for by the National Trust, allowing the public a glimpse into its rich past and stunning natural surroundings.
Grand interiors
Explore the house and disco more about the Croft family. Discover a number of 'atmosphere rooms', including the 18th-century Saloon, where visitors can play the piano. The Blue Room showcases the recently acquired portrait of Elizabeth Croft by John Constable,
Glorious parkland
The surrounding parkland, encompassing a vast 1,500 acres, is a wonderland for nature enthusiasts. Wander through woodlands, explore the picturesque Fishpool Valley, or even climb Croft Ambrey, an Iron Age hillfort with stunning views. Don’t miss the Candelabra Oak, one of an impressive collection of ancient trees, estimated to be around 750 years old.
Outdoor play areas
The estate also caters to families with a dedicated castle play area and a natural play area, allowing children to explore and have fun in a safe environment.
