Graves Gallery
With a National Art Pass you get
Graves Gallery is the Art Deco home of Sheffield’s visual art collection, complemented by key loans and temporary exhibitions.
Located on the third floor of Sheffield’s grand Central Library, the Graves Gallery offers a rich and diverse collection of British and European art, spanning centuries. Free to enter, the gallery is a perfect place to spend a relaxed afternoon exploring creative expression.
Journey through artistic movements
From the Romanticism of J. M. W. Turner to the contemporary works of Marc Quinn, the collection offers a glimpse into the evolution of artistic expression. Explore the play of light and colour in Bridget Riley’s op art or the social commentary of Grayson Perry’s ceramics.
Across the galleries themes are explored through paintings, sculpture, photography, video, installation and works on paper from the city’s collection, complemented by a number of key loans.
Temporary exhibitions and events
The Graves Gallery doesn't limit itself to its permanent collection. A program of temporary exhibitions ensures there's always something new to see. These exhibitions delve into a wide range of topics and medium. The gallery also hosts events and talks about specific artists, movements, or techniques.
