Rode Hall & Gardens

Nestled amidst expansive and meticulously tended gardens Rode House is a captivating blend of architectural elegance and historical significance, offering visitors a glimpse into the lives of its former inhabitants. The handsome home is really two houses in one. The smaller first house, now clad in wisteria, was built 1705-7, and the substantial porticoed building was added to it in the mid 18th century.

Discover porcelain treasures

Rode Hall houses a remarkable collection of English porcelain and pottery, from delicate teacups to ornate vases. The house itself is a work of art, adorned with stunning architectural details and holds a fascinating array of furniture and paintings.

Take a guided tour

Between April and September each year, visitors are invited to take a guided tour of Rode Hall. Learn about the history of the property and it’s residents as you wander through various rooms.

Explore the gardens

Landscape designed by Humphrey Repton offers an idyllic escape, including Rode Pool, a mile long lake. A haven for wildlife, the gardens are famous for their winter display of snowdrops, with over 50 varieties carpeting the landscape in February.

Did you know?

The walled kitchen garden is home to this champion gooseberry bush which has produced some of the largest gooseberries ever recorded. Try some of the gooseberry chutney in the Courtyard Kitchen cafe. Food fans may also be interested in the Farmers Market held at Rode Hall on the first Saturday of every month (except January).
