Learn about the different regiments in the area, from the formation of the Beaufort Musketeers in 1685 to the modern soldiers of The Rifles, a new regiment formed in 2007. Get hands on with interactive and 3D displays, and see items of military memorabilia including weapons and uniforms. Discover the battle strategies and personal stories of courage, spanning a timeline from the Napoleonic Wars to the Iraq conflict.
Views across Dorchester
Climb up the stairs from the top floor to the rooftop terrace where you can enjoy fantastic views across Dorchester and the surrounding country side. You can also make out the shape of the barracks, with information boards pointing out which buildings were where, and what they were used for.
