The Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery displays treasures from the University of Leeds' exceptional art collection and mounts innovative temporary exhibitions.

Stanley Burton was a supporter of the University of Leeds for over 40 years, aiding in the establishment of its art collection and galleries in the 1970s. The Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery was opened in 2007 and provides a peaceful and intimate environment to appreciate a diverse selection of artworks and discover innovative new exhibitions.

Permanent collection

Expect to see a wide range of artwork, including paintings, sculptures, drawings, and prints, from both European and British artists. You'll find pieces dating back to the 17th century, as well small collections of sculpture, ceramics, miniatures, and photographs.

Temporary exhibitions

Keep an eye out for temporary exhibitions featuring various themes and artists. These exhibitions provide opportunities to discover new talents and explore different art movements. The Gallery also showcases contemporary art, featuring works by both established and emerging artists.
