Immerse yourself in the story of Ulster people's contribution to the establishment of modern North America at Ulster American Folk Park.

The Ulster American Folk Park in Omagh is a huge living museum dedicated to showcasing the lives of Irish emigrants who journeyed to America in the 18th and 19th centuries. With its variety of reconstructed buildings and Visitors Centre, it's a great place to learn about the history of Irish-American migration and experience what life was like for those who made the perilous journey across the Atlantic.

Explore the recreated Irish village

Step back in time and wander through the authentically reconstructed Irish village of the 18th and 19th centuries. You'll see thatched cottages, traditional farms, and blacksmiths' workshops. Look out for ducks and hens in the Homestead yard and soda bread baking on the griddle.

Board a replica emigrant ship

Step aboard a replica of the Brig Union, an 18th-century emigrant ship, and experience the conditions faced by those who made the treacherous journey across the Atlantic. Disembark onto a recreation of typical American street from the period, complete with the General Store and Bank.

Activities for all ages

The Ulster American Folk Park offers a variety of family-friendly fun, including interactive exhibits, a children's play area, storytelling sessions and seasonal events. The park also often hosts live music and entertainment events, such as traditional Irish music and dancing. Take a curator tour or attend a talk or temporary exhibition to learn more about the history and culture of the early American settlers.
