In the 19th century, High Wycombe developed into the chair making capital of the world, with the Windsor chair becoming the most famous product of the trade. The museum’s collections include objects relating to the area’s rich furniture-making heritage. See chairs and furniture by local makers and well known brands such as Ercol, Parker Knoll and G-Plan, as well as tools, archives and photographs relating to furniture making.
