Book an appointment
The Borthwick is located on the Heslington West campus of the University of York and is open to the public by appointment only. If you wish to use original archives or to access the microfilmed collections, it is strongly recommended that you contact the Institute ahead of your visit.

The Borthwick Institute for Archives is open by appointment for research visits.
Monday - Wednesday 10am - 4pm.
Please note that the search room and microfilm room is closed between 12.30pm to 1.30pm
For the safety of our visitors and staff, we are limiting the number of appointments available.
There are two bookable sessions each day from 10am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 4pm.
All-day appointments are available subject to availability.
