Art Funded by you

1) 30 Studies for 'Portrait of Juan Gris'; 2-5) Reserved Table - Study; 6-11) 6 screenprints

Patrick Caulfield, 1967–2000

© The Estate of Patrick Caulfield/DACS, London 2007

These 40 works are part of the Wilson Gift and include 4 studies for Reserved Table (illustrated) and 6 screenprints - 1) Grey Pipe; 2) Signature Pots; 3) Curtain and Bottle; 4) Spider Plant; 5) Earthenware and 6) Les Demoiselles d'Avignon Vues de Derriere. The gift is the result of a passion for collecting that Professor Sir Colin St John Wilson likened to 'a lifelong addiction' and represents an important step in the gallery's development. This gift of 679 works, which complements the important Hussey and Kearley bequests (the latter also made via the Art Fund), brings the gallery's holdings up to date, enabling it to present one of the best collections of modern British art anywhere in the world.
