Art Funded by you

1) Bamberg

Erich Heckel, Lyonel Feininger, Gino Ritter von Finetti, Wilhelm Maxon

This gift of 11 German Expressionist works, most notably including watercolours, prints and drawings by Lyonel Feininger, is a significant addition to New Walk Museum & Art GalleryÂ’s holdings of early 20th-century German art. The donorÂ’s father, Stefan Pauson, was the brother-in-law of art collector Alfred Hess, whose collection formed the core of the New Walk MuseumÂ’s 1944 exhibition Mid-European Art and subsequently laid the foundation for the museumÂ’s present collection.
