Cabinet

Ernest Gimson, c. 1902–1905

This cabinet is an example of the highly finished, sophisticated style of furniture that was an important part of Gimson's career right from the start. It shows the influence of the designer E W Godwin and the impact of Japanese design on his work. Gimson carefully chose the timbers and veneers while the elegant crescent drawer handles enhance the overall design.
