Art Funded by you

Canterbury Cathedral

Albert Goodwin, 1908

© The artist's estate

Despite his Pre-Raphaelite beginnings, Goodwin managed to follow an independant path as he preferred soft to bright colours and did not like working from nature. He worked mainly in watercolour, using thick body colour often combined with pen to create effects which are instantly recognisable. The drawing shows Canterbury Cathedral from the Green Court in the King's School.
