A sculpture of an old empty half-zipped sleeping bag seems so life-like down to the silver zip and yellow inner lining oozing out and yet it is a solid object. Each crease and fold is cast in bronze, the casually rumpled, padded nylon form is fixed in space. The title hints at the home of the down-and-out, the familiarity of the sleeping bag in the urban environment, or even the ideal polished interior. This sculpture stands as a symbol of our age of indivualism and commercialism, encapsulating the down side or an uncaring, anonymous society.
