Moving Visions Series no. 83 and Moving Visions 140919

Wang Huangsheng, 2012-2014

Wang Huangsheng is an artist and director of the Art Museum of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing. He grew up in the Southern Province of Guangdong, where his father taught him calligraphy and painting. Huangsheng later studied fine art, as well as art history and aesthetics. He has worked largely in landscape and figurative art and his shift to the abstract work shown in Moving Visions Series No.83 and Moving Visions 140919 is a recent development. Both pictures display a highly skilled and exploratory use of ink with an innovative development of line. The Ashmolean houses the UKÂ’s leading collection of modern Chinese art. These works by Huangsheng now make a significant addition to its growing contemporary holdings.
