Art Funded by you

Neckpiece 2007

Adam Paxon, 2007

This work was purchased by the Art Fund at Collect 2008, the Craft Council's contemporary craft fair, as part of a new £50,000 initiative called Art Fund Collect. The scheme provided curators early access to the fair and the promise of 100% grants allowing them to compete with private collectors and expand their regional collections, whilst raising the profile of public collections of contemporary craft in the UK. Hove was among the ten shortlisted institutions at the preview and this work one of work purchased outright by the Art Fund. The neckpiece is vast in scale and demonstrates great skill in the detail of the bright neon colours and large oval and tentacle shaped beads.
