Pair of wing figured vases

Matthew Boulton, John Fothergill, c. 1772

Wing figured vases were extremely desirable in the late 18th century for fashionable interiors; buyers included the Prince of Wales, and Tsar Paul I. This pair are rare survivors as glass is much more vulnerable than marble or blue john.
