Purchased with a donation of £3,750 from the Gordon Fraser Charitable Trust through the Art Fund, these 13 photographs by Edward Weston are part of a portfolio including another 4 photographs by Paul Strand which marked the first two major acquisitions of photographs through the Art Fund, in 1975.The work illustrated is one of the 3 prints called 'Oceano', 1936 in the Portfolio. Other subjects include Point Lobos, Yosemite and scenes in New Mexico.
