Portrait of Count James Joseph Mahoney, Lieutenant General in Neapolitan service and a Knight of Januarius. He is depicted in full armour and half length. A portrait of his wife was painted at the same time by Pierre Subleyras. The two were separated when the collection of Castello Borromeo Arese was sold by Christies, Rome in 1979.
