Juliana Margaretta Waltersdorff (1769-1819) was the daughter of a Major in the Danish army. She married Sir Cornelius Hendrickson Kortright in the early 1790s who bought Hylands near Chelmsford, Essex. The sitter is wearing a red shawl over her shoulders and a red band in her curly brown hair.
