Portrait of Sir John Bolle & Wax impression of Sir John's thumb ring

The portrait is probably a copy made about 1812. The original of 1596 - when aged 36 - having most likely been on board which was cut down to remove the Spanish lady in green. The impression of 16 quarterings and IBM (for John Bolle Knight) was taken from the gold thumb ring which was later stolen.
