Depicts the Rabbi and Rabbitzin seated with their arms linked and resting on a plain table. Portraits of Rabbis were relatively rare, and this one is almost revolutionary in its representation of the religious leader in mundane partnership with his wife in the kitchen. It can be seen as an expression of the artist's personal ambivalence towards his Jewish identity.
