Art Funded by you

Raethro Pink

James Turrell, 1968

© The artist

This work was one of Turrell's early projection pieces and consists of a rhomboid of pink light projected into the corner of a room to give the impression of a luminous three-dimensional pyramid hovering in the darkness. The artist describes his work as more perceptual than minimalist or conceptual. The National Museum Wales seeks to represent important and influential figures working internationally post 1945 like Turrell in addition to modern and contemporary practice in Wales.
