Art Funded by you

Red Stripe

Rachael Woodman, 2008

© Rachel Woodman / Photo: Mark Crick

This work was purchased as part of Art Fund Collect at the Craft Council's international fair Collect. Art Fund Collect was a competitive challenge where shortlisted curators of public collections had just one hour to choose an object for their museum or gallery's permanent collection, ahead of private collectors. Cardiff was among the ten shortlisted institutions and this work was purchased outright by the Art Fund. This piece is an excellent example of Woodman's painting in glass and powerful use of colour.
