Study of Trees at Canonteign, Devon
John White Abbott, 1800

Canonteign is the seat of Viscount Exmouth. At the time of this watercolour, the estate was quite neglected despite its well known waterfall. The artist liked it wildness and rode there quite frequently. The work depicts a waterfall in a rocky woodland.
