The Misses Hunter

Three ladies are depicted sitting on a three-cornered sofa; the woman to the right is in a black silk dress, the woman in the centre is also in black silk with a white fichu and a red fan in her right hand, a rough-haired terrier lies on her skirt; further back, the third woman wears a white dress and her left arm is raised touching a pearl necklace. There is a black and gold Chinese screen in the background and an Aubusson carpet on the floor. The painting was presented by Mrs. Charles Hunter in memory of Singer Sargent who was a great friend.
